How do ya work this thing?

We bought a new computer yesterday and now I am trying to upload a picture from a disc to the "add page elements" section of this blog, but it just won't work. The window pops up to upload, but then this icon with radiating marks spins around and around and does nothing for my blog. I left it like this all through dinner last night hoping that it was just going to take a while, but to no avail. Can anyone help me? In the mean time, here is a pic of Apollo and I on our birthday. I almost never like pics of myself, but I really like this one...
